The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a famous short story by Washington Irving that was published in 1820 in his collection, The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.

It tells the tale of Ichabod Crane, a poor school teacher who falls in love with a lovely girl in town and plans to court her despite his rival for her affection, Brom Bones.  After rumors of the Headless Horseman start, things get more complicated…
